LASHKARGAH: At least 11 people died and 4 others were injured as a result of a traffic accident on the Kabul-Herat highway, officials confirmed.
Ezatullah Haqqani, police spokesman of Helmand said in a statement today that the accident happened when a 580 passenger type-vehicle collided with a mini-bus in the Karez area, Washer district along the Kabul-Herat highway, resulting in the deaths of 11 and injuries to 4 others.
Haqqani called the carelessness of the drivers the reason behind the tragic accident.
He added that emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported the injured individuals to hospitals in Greshk and the Taliban’s 215th Azm Army Corps Hospitals for treatment.
