MOSCOW: Three sources close to the Kremlin have informed Reuters that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no intention of halting the war in Ukraine unless the West agrees to his peace conditions.
According to the sources, Putin believes that new Western sanctions, including proposed tariffs from the U.S., will not compel Moscow to retreat.
At the same time, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed dissatisfaction on Monday with Putin’s continuation of the war, announcing that more military assistance, including Patriot missiles, will be sent to Ukraine.
He warned that if a peace agreement is not reached within the next 50 days, stricter sanctions against Russia will be imposed.
