FAIZABAD: Local resources in Badakhshan report that three members of a family were shot dead by unknown gunmen on Saturday night, in the village of Khairabad, Beharak district.
The victims include a man, his son, and his wife.
According to sources, the assailants entered the family’s home in the middle of the night and, after stealing 200,000 Afghanis from the sale of potatoes, shot the family members when they resisted.
A local source stated that the father and son were killed at the scene, and the woman was also among the victims.
The Taliban have not yet responded to this incident.
This event occurs amidst a rise in targeted and mysterious killings in various provinces since the Taliban’s return to power.
Despite the Taliban’s claims of providing security, many of these incidents are attributed to unknown armed individuals.
