JALALABAD: Taliban officials in Nangarhar have reported significant financial losses due to flooding caused by recent rainfall in Dara-e-Noor and Shinwari districts of the province.

The officials from the provincial disaster management authority stated that agricultural crops in the areas of Barkot, Shimel, Kashmond Qala, Safar Qala, and Waigal in Dara Noor have been severely damaged by the rain.

In the village of Shakiali, dozens of solar panels and other equipment have been destroyed.

Additionally, in the 26th Wali (Akhar Farm) area of Shinwari district, a wall collapsed due to heavy rain, injuring two children.

The Nangarhar disaster management authority has dispatched assessment and rescue teams to the affected areas.

This comes as heavy rainfall and flooding have been causing both personal and financial losses in Nangarhar and other eastern provinces over the past three weeks.

Furthermore, the meteorological department has issued warnings for severe rains and flooding in several provinces.
