Fuel crisis in Gaza: Alarm over complete hospital shutdowns

GAZA: Health officials in Gaza have warned that the severe fuel crisis is putting the region on the brink of a complete halt to medical services.

According to Radio France Internationale, the situation at Shifa Hospital—one of the largest medical centers in Gaza—is critical, with generator fuel remaining for only a few hours.

Despite the limited delivery of 75,000 liters of fuel by the United Nations, this amount is insufficient for even a full day.

The fuel shortage has led to reduced dialysis treatments, oxygen production, and even power outages during surgeries.

The technical director of Shifa Hospital reported that a patient died due to the sudden shutdown of the generator during surgery.

With all hospitals in northern Gaza ceasing operations, officials are calling for immediate and regular fuel deliveries to prevent a humanitarian disaster.
