KABUL: Amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, Richard Bennett, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights, has expressed concern regarding the situation of Afghan migrants in Iran.
In a message on his X account on Saturday Bennett called for the protection of civilians, particularly Afghan migrants. He urged the parties involved to respect international law.
Recent Israeli attacks on locations in Iran have reportedly resulted in the deaths of three
Afghan migrants.
Local sources have identified the deceased as Hafiz Bostani, Abdul Wali, and Habibullah Jamshidi, who were killed in different areas of the country.
The remarks come as concerns grow about the impact of the conflict on civilians, especially migrants.
