TEHRAN: Following Israel’s attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, ballistic missile factories, and military command centers, Iran’s religious leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a warning.
In a message to the Iranian people today, Khamenei stated, “The Zionist regime must expect a severe punishment. With this crime it has prepared a bitter and painful fate for itself, the consequences of which it will surely witness.”
Iranian media also reported that the Israeli airstrikes included significant damage to the Natanz facility, a key site for Iran’s uranium enrichment.
Reports indicate that Natanz is considered one of the most critical centers for uranium enrichment in Isfahan.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli military claimed that their airstrikes targeted Iran’s nuclear and uranium enrichment sites across various locations.
According to Reuters, Israeli officials described these attacks as the beginning of a long-term military operation aimed at preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
While the spokesperson for Iran’s armed forces called both Israel and the U.S., responsible for the attacks, the U.S. State Department stated that it does not support these strikes.
Last year, Israel targeted around 20 military and defense sites in Iran, including missile factories, nuclear research centers, and air defense systems.
