KABUL: The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing of the Taliban has announced that the Kabul Zoo will be relocated to a more suitable site outside the city due to severe traffic congestion in its current location.
Hamdullah Nomani, the acting Minister of Urban Development and Housing, stated that this relocation will not only alleviate traffic issues but also increase public and tourist interest in visiting the zoo, thereby boosting government revenue.
In a meeting with representatives from the ministries of Agriculture, Irrigation, Finance, Justice, Interior, Environment, and the Kabul Municipality, potential relocation sites were discussed, including the districts of Dehsabz, Paghman, Bagrami, and Chahar Asiab.
It was decided that, under the supervision of the Land Authority and in cooperation with relevant departments, a suitable location will be selected and proposed within one week after Eid al-Adha.
