Russian-Ukraine second rounds of talks hold in
Istanbul
ISTANBUL: Delegations from Russia and Ukraine will commence the second round of face-to-face talks today, Monday, in Istanbul, Turkey, media reported.
According to the reports, the Russian delegation has traveled to Istanbul for this round of discussions.
The head of the Russian delegation is Vladimir Medinsky, an adviser to President Vladimir Putin.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the defense minister, Rustem Umerov, will lead Ukraine’s delegation.
Both delegations are meeting at a time when significant disagreements remain regarding the resolution of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and fighting has intensified in the past 48 hours.
In the first round of talks on May 16, a large number of prisoners were released; however, there was no indication of a ceasefire or the end of hostilities.
