WARSAW: Chelsea Football Club has won the
UEFA Europa Conference League for the first time in its history.
The London Blues defeated Real Betis of Spain 4-1 in the final held in Wroctaw, Poland.
Real Betis started the match aggressively, scoring in the 9th minute through Moroccan player Abdessamad Ezzalzouli. However, Chelsea changed the course of the game in the second half, delivering a dominant performance.
Enzo Fernández equalized in the 65th minute, and just five minutes later, Nicolas Jackson put Chelsea ahead. In the 83rd minute, Jadon Sancho extended the lead to two goals, and in the first minute of stoppage time, Moisés Caicedo scored the fourth.
With this victory, Chelsea became the first team in European football history to win every major club trophy on the continent. The club has previously won the UEFA Champions League twice, the UEFA Europa League twice, and the VEFA Super Cup twice.
This match marked the thirteenth European final in Chelsea’s history. Meanwhile, Real Betis continues to seek its first major European title.
